Symptom:
After upgrade to 17.x when I email a report I can no longer select email addresses from my contact list. I have to type them in.
Cause
Cause:
In 17.1 Abila switched from user a MAPI mail client technology to SMTP. This was because Microsoft discontinued support for MAPI some time ago and there have been increasing compatibility problems with newer operating systems.
One of the side effects of this switch to SMTP vs MAPI is that SMTP doesn’t have easy access to the local outlook contact list. Therefore, you have to manually specify the contacts.
