Answer

As of version 2019.1.4*, Missouri State Tax Withholding formula has changed. In response to legislative changes the Allowances field in MIP Payroll > Maintain > Employee Information will now ignore any pre-existing allowance declared, with one exception.

Exception: Only the 99 designation will be acknowledged. Use 99 Allowances to indicate exempt status from State Tax Withholding. All other values will be disregarded by the software. There is no need to clear prior designated allowances.

Customers who own HR Management will note similar functionality in HR > Employee Info > Taxes Tab.

*MIP v2019.1.4 is available as of 1/23/2019 for on premise customers, 1/24/2019 for customers in the Abila Private Cloud. The changes above only apply to employees in the State of Missouri. For State Tax Withholding changes in other states please refer to KB 22341.
